Eastern Illinois University President David Glassman recently issued a letter addressing staff and students' concerns regarding the university's future.
Glassman says the letter came as a result of confusion and concerns among students, parents, and staff.
He wants to make sure everyone knows the present, and future, status of Eastern.
And the faculty senate DID take the letter seriously, voting 11-3 in favor of endorsing the president's statement.
To senate members, not only did it unify the different levels of university government, the letter also informed staff, students, and community members of Eastern's financial status.
The President stressed in his letter the university has had a tough year, but remains hopeful now and in the future.
