University of Illinois trustees vote to freeze tuition for in-state students.
Trustees voted unanimously earlier today to hold tuition levels steady in an effort to attract more in-state students.
Tuition for in-state students will remain at just over $12,000 a year in Urbana-Champaign.
The budget stalemate between Republican Governor Bruce Rauner and the Democrat-controlled General Assembly has meant no state funding for the university system since the start of the fiscal year in July.
