The trial of a Charleston daycare provider accused of aggravated battery to a child has been postponed until next year.
The trial of 43-year-old Patricia Brant was scheduled to start August 17th, but after a court hearing Tuesday was re-set for January 11th to allow attorneys more time to gather reports.
In February 20-14, police were called to Treasured Tots Daycare where they found 3-year-old Pierson Eaker unresponsive.
Brant told authorities she left the then 22-month-old in a playpen, went to the bathroom and returned to find him on the ground gasping for air.
Doctors say Eaker suffered from retinal bleeding and brain damage.
He continues to recover.
