Decatur Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murder

A central Illinois man will spend the rest of his life in jail for killing his second cousin and the cousin's wife in an execution-style shooting.
On Thursday, 30-year-old Demarta Cunningham was sentenced for murdering Freedom and Central Cunningham in 2012 in Decatur.
Authorities say Demarta Cunningham shot the couple because Freedom Cunningham owed him around $15,000 as part of a heroin deal.
Cunningham will not be eligible for parole.
