Effingham County is looking to create its own fireworks law.
The Effingham County Board says they're considering going against a statewide ban by allowing people to buy fireworks such as firecrackers and bottle rockets.
Members say the county wants to bring in business that might go to neighboring states such as Indiana.
At a committee meeting today board member Dave Campbell says there was an 8 to 1 vote for the ordinance to go to the board.
He says the final vote and the full board meeting is on April 20th at 4:00.
