Illinois Medical Marijuana Disease List Expansion

Monday, 6 April 2015

Illinois residents want more conditions covered under the medical marijuana program.

Officials say patients have petitioned for marijuana use for anxiety, migraines, and insomnia.

Many patients identify themselves as veterans, and want marijuana for post-traumatic stress disorder.

The Illinois Department of Public Health will have to approve the conditions and diseases before patients qualify for medical marijuana.

Officials say a board of patients and doctors is reviewing the petitions, and a public hearing will be held May fourth.
