The Clark County Sheriff's Office is warning of social media scams in which users claim to offer a variety of goods belonging to family members for sale.
In those social media posts, scammers claim to offer large quantities of goods at unusually low prices. In one example shared by the office, a user claims to sell items belonging to a family member who has moved to elder care.
Those scammers may ask buyers to send money, then fail to deliver the purchased goods, the office said. Police say goods being sold at prices substantially below market value are almost always part of a scam.
