The Deadline for Real I.D.s is right around the corner.
Starting May 7th, you'll need a Real I.D. to visit a federal facility or to fly in the U.S., however, a passport also works for getting on flights.
There's still some confusion on what those I.D.s are used for, said Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias.
"Since the new administration has taken over in D.C., we've seen an influx of people who are confusd about what a Real I.D. means, and they think they need it as a form of identification," Giannoulias said. "Our point that we're trying to hammer home today is that that's not the case."
Real I.D. appointments can be made online at ILSOS.gov.
If you're not sure if you already have one, a Real I.D. is signified by a gold star in the top right hand corner of the card.
