One person is dead after a crash that left the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 shut down in Clark County Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The crash occurred between Martinsville and Marshall around 4:33 p.m. Thursday, when a Ford F350 pickup hit the back end of a truck-tractor/semi-trailer which was driving slowly because of road maintenance, according to Illinois State Police.
The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the semi was not injured, according to state police.
Crews closed the eastbound lanes until 4:40 a.m. Thursday and diverted traffic to Martinsville, according to Illinois State Police.
