EIU Football Faces Off Against Big 10's Northwestern

Eastern Illinois University football will look to pick up their 2nd consecutive victory as they travel upstate to face the Northwestern Wildcats.

EIU (1-1) is taking on their 2nd Big 10 team of the season, more than the rest of the Big South-OVC conference has played combined.

The Panthers' offense was key in their most recent victory against Indiana State, as quarterback Pierce Holley threw for 268 yards and a touchdown while star running back MJ Flowers recorded 93 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.

Northwestern (1-1) will be led by their run game, which has accumulated 282 total yards through their first two contests.

The Wildcats are fresh off of a double-overtime loss to the ACC's Duke Blue Devils.

EIU and Northwestern kicks off at 6:30 on Saturday night in Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium while renovations on their permanent home, Ryan Field, continue.
