The Unit 40 School District has decided to push back Effingham High School football's opening game to a later time on Friday due to the excessive heat in the region.
The Effingham Flaming Hearts will face-off against Robinson High School on Friday with kick-off happening no later than 7:30 p.m., according to Effingham high-school's Facebook page.
The last time these two schools faced off the Flaming Hearts topped the Maroons with a final score of 31-7.
Effingham finished the previous season 5-5 overall including a 3-2 record in Apollo Conference play.
The Flaming Hearts fell short to Mt. Zion 21-2 to close out last season's playoff run.
