The American Red Cross is asking people to "Roll Up Their Sleeve".
The organization has issued an emergency blood shortage after the effects of Hurricane Debby eariler this month.
Nearly 60 blood drives throughout the country have been cancelled as a result of the hurricane, said health officials.
Because blood has a short shelf life, disruptions in the ability to collect blood has serious consequences for hospitals and patients, according to The American Red Cross.
