A University of Illinois Wide Reciever Is Up For a National Award

 A University of Illinois wide receiver, Zakhari Franklin has been named to the 2024 watchlist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award on Wednesday.

The award recognizes top offensive Division I players who have certain characteristics like intergrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity.

Franklin joined the Illinois program in the summer of 2024 with one year left of elgibilty, according to U of I athletics.  

He left the University of Texas at San Antonio as the program's single season and career record holder for receptions and touchdowns.

Franklin enters the season as the NCAA's active career leader in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns, according to U of I athletics.
