A new company will soon bring hundreds of jobs to Macon County.
French Bio-tech company Innova Feed has chosen to open its first North American facility in Decatur.
The company said they are a leading insect producer for animal and plant nutrtion, a more sustainable option than the fish meal and vegetable oils that are typically used.
The facility is expected to create 280 direct and 400 indirect jobs.
Construction is planned to start soon and the pilot facility is set to open late 2023 or early 2024.
