An Effingham business is getting some state recognition.

Governor J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity said that 30 small businesses or "Makers" have been recognized as part of the Illinois Made Program.

The state announced Joe Sippers Cafe made the list.

Each year, the Illinois office of Tourism selects a group of small businesses that exemplify the hidden gems, experiences and one-of-a-kind products that make Illinois a wonderful place to explore for residents and visitors alike.

The Illinois Department of Tourism encourages residents and visitors to discover the products created by small businesses throughout the state.

"Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and their distinctive products and experiences help make communities unique and provide locals and visitors alike with many reasons to explore our great state," Sylvia I. Garcia, Director of DCEO said.

The Joe Sippers Cafe is known for their coffee, sandwiches, soups, and salads.
