A Chicago man faces charges of threatening a public official after he allegedly left a threatening voicemail at the office of State Senator Darren Bailey, the Republican candidate for Illinois governor.

Prosecutors allege Scott Lenox, 21, left the voicemail Friday, and threatened to skin Bailey alive and kill him. He also allegedly said “I know where he sleeps, I know where his kids sleep.”

Lenox appeared in court Wednesday on felony charges, including threatening a public official. He was given $75,000 bond and ordered to stay away from Bailey, his family and his associates.
