University of Illinois Precautions of Coronavirus

University of Illinois administrators are requiring all students, staff and faculty, studying or working in Italy to return home immediatetly

That request comes as the national and global situation surrounding the coronavirus continues to change.

Chancellor Robert Jones is also encouraging students and staff to leave all sites in South Korea.

Jones said the university is also prohibiting travel to those areas.

Health officials report that four people in Illinois have tested positive for COVID-19, while the total number of cases in the U.S. stands at more than 100.

U of I officials said any individuals traveling over SPRING BREAK to nations under travel advisories, will be required to stay under a 14 day self-quarantine before being allowed to resume normal campus activities.
