If you travel Illinois Route 130 through Douglas County, get ready to experience some delays due to construction.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced crews will be replacing the Route 130 (or Sycamore Street) bridge over the Embarrass River in Villa Grove starting the week of March 9th.
The removal of the current bridge will be done in two stages to maintain two-way traffic, which will be controlled by temporary signals.
A new multi-use path will be one of the additions to the new bridge, along with new abutments, piers, girders, and concrete driving lanes.
Major construction is expected to be complete mid-December with minor work being finished by June 2021.
IDOT said motorists can expect delays and asked drivers to be aware of significant pedestrian traffic to and from Villa Grove schools.
