Hypothermia Ruled Cause of Death of Paris Woman

Edgar County officials are releasing more information on a death investigation.

Authorities say 45-year-old Neva Martin of Paris was discovered dead outside a rural Chrisman residence Saturday morning.

The owner of the residence told 911 dispatchers Martin had left his house shortly after midnight, and he believed she returned home.

Edgar County Coroner Scott Barrett says hypothermia was ruled the cause of Martin's death following an autopsy in Bloomington on Monday.

Barrett says toxicology tests are pending, and the incident remains under investigation.
