400 National Guard troops are being deployed to Afghanistan this spring and a local hospital wants to honor them.
Officials said the Second Battalion, 130th Infantry Regiment in Marion Illinois will deploy companies in Effingham, Litchfield, West Frankfort, and Mt. Vernon.
They said HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham will host a short prayer service on Tuesday for the men and women being deployed.
Officials said the service will be in the hospital's Chapel at noon, and anyone is invited to attend.
