Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon was named a top rural hospital by a national organization.
The Leapfrog Group is a national watchdog organization of employers and other purchasers focused on health care safety and quality.
"It is exciting to be named one of the best hospitals in the nation", said Sarah Bush Lincoln President and CEO Jerry Esker.
"This prestigious award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive honors American hospitals can receive", said Esker.
According to Sarah Bush officials, about 2,100 hospitals were considered for the award.
The Top Rural Hospital award comes after Sarah Bush Lincoln's "A" hospital safety grade, also from the Leapfrog Group.
