A man convicted of impersonating a police officer in Edgar County is sentenced.

Justin Hefner was sentenced to two years probation on Tuesday afternoon.

Along with probation, Hefner can't own a weapon and is subject to random drug testing.

Hefner was arrested in February 20-18 after police say he walked into the Edgar County Sheriff's Department office, while armed, and wanted to make random arrests.

On October 30th a jury found Hefner guilty on two felony counts of false impersonation.

He faced up to ten years in prison and served 662 days while waiting for trial.
