Lake Shelbyville Closures During Deer Hunt

The 30th Annual Lake Shelbyville Deer Hunt for People with Disabilities is coming up.

The event is during the during first firearm season November 22th through the 24th and is hosted by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and Wolf Creek State Park.

The hunt takes place in areas already closed for the season, but several sites will be closed to automobile and pedestrian traffic as a precaution from 2 p.m. November 21st to 7 p.m. November 24th.

Those sites include Lone Point and Lithia Springs Campground and all of Sullivan Beach, Wilborn Creek, Coon Creek, and Opossum Creek Recreation Areas.

Boat ramps that will remain open during the period include Dam West, Lone Point, Lithia Springs, Whitley Creek, Wolf Creek, and Eagle Creek State Park, in addition to all primitive ramps.
