Semi Truck Bill

Tuesday, 12 April 2016

If you have experience being hit by snow while driving behind a semi truck in the winter, you know it can be scary!

Legislation proposed in the state legislature could mean a person operating a vehicle weighing more than 8,000 lbs on an Illinois highway would have to remove any ice and snow from the hood, roof and sides of the vehicle.

Officials say that it poses a threat to the safety of other people on the highway while the vehicle is on the move.

The bill is being voted on at this hour in Springfield, we'll have the latest on tomorrow's edition.
