Starting today Decatur drivers are paying more at the pump.
That's because a new gas tax takes effect in the city!
Decatur officials say the tax is five cents more per gallon of unleaded gas and one cent more per gallon of diesel and will be used to repair roads.
Public Works Director Rick Marley says they're putting together a list of more than a dozen streets where the gas tax will pay for improvements.
Gas station owners just hope they don't lose too many customers.
