A Neoga police officer is under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
State's Attorney Jonathan Braden says Neoga officer John Dilger is being investigated about alleged misconduct.
City attorney Tracey Willenborg says Dilger was suspended on Tuesday.
On Wednesday the Neoga City Council voted to terminate Dilger's employment.
Both Willenborg and Braden say the investigation is ongoing and would not comment further on the circumstances.
