After 39 years of the tradition, Celebration: The Festival of the Arts is canceled due to the budget impasse. The Festival of the Arts connects Eastern and the community by celebrating the arts in our life. Vendors from all over the Midwest have traveled to Charleston to share their music, crafts and food. Celebration coordinator Dan Crews has been in charge of planning since 1993. He says canceling was a difficult decision to make and hopes this will only be a one-year hiatus with Celebration returning April 21st next year.
