Today was the day employees at Eastern Illinois University's testing services hoped wouldn't come. This afternoon two workers within the department were laid off and services suspended. This is just another example of what the state budget impasse is doing to the Charleston campus. The move will directly affect students who need the service to succeed in the classroom. EIU Disablity Services Director Kathy Waggoner says the reason this is happening, is because the employee that ran the testing center was laid off. The Testing Service is going to be suspended until EIU gets more funding.
