The University of Illinois has now added "All Gender Restroom" signs to a few restrooms on campus.
The Chancellor and Provost Committee on LGBTQ Concerns say the signs are to identify single-use, locking capable restroom facilities in campus buildings.
University of Illinois Professor Cris Mayo says currently there are plans to add the signs to more restrooms on campus.
The committee says their aim is to make campus safe and welcoming for students of all backgrounds and identities.
