The trial for a former University of Illinois football staff member and player accused of unlawful use of a weapon is underway.
The trial for Matt Sinclair (pictured below) started Monday in Champaign.
Sinclar was arrested last November after reports he pointed a gun at a vehicle carrying other staff members on Interstate 74.
Sinclair told authorities at the time of his arrest he pointed the unloaded gun as a joke.
Champaign County State's Attorney Julia Rietz says Sinclair is facing two felony counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
