A homicide investigation is underway in Sullivan.
The Illinois State Police say Wednesday afternoon they responded to a request from the Sullivan Police Department to assist in the investigation of a suspected homicide.
They say the Sullivan Police Department received a call from a female subject who advised she had discovered two victims in an apartment in a local apartment complex.
Once on scene, emergency responders located two individuals who were suffering from apparent stab wounds and were unresponsive.
Police say a 40-year-old male from Sullivan, Illinois, was attended to by paramedics and transported to a local hospital in Decatur.
They say a second individual, 43-year-old Sheri Randall of Sullivan was pronounced deceased by Moultrie County Coroner.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning in Champaign County.
No further information is being released by the Illinois State Police.
