The Cumberland County coroner says a Robinson man died after an incident in an oil field.
Donna Whitaker says 59-year-old Claude Loftis was servicing an oil field pump on Country Road 1000 in Cumberland County Tuesday, when his sweatshirt got caught in the machine.
Whitaker says an autopsy wasn't performed because the evidence at the scene indicated it was an accidental strangulation.
Loftis had worked for the Pioneer Oil Field Service Company for about eight years.
