Moultrie eCitations

Thursday, 14 January 2016

Moultrie County is trying something new to help make the daily work of police officers a little bit easier.

Sullivan's police department has switched to eCitations, which is an electronic form of a citation.

Officers will be able to input your drivers license information and the device will immediately prints out the ticket.

Officials say this device saves time, makes the ticket legible, and more accurate.

Patrolman Josh Qualls is training other officers on how to use the new technology and says it takes awhile to get the hang of it.

The Moultrie County Circuit Clerk's office is the first in the sixth judicial circuit to begin eCitations.

Officials say they've already started using the device and citizens like it better because it is easier to understand.
